Who we are

Hi, I’m Jewels, the creator behind The Twisted Frame.

Creativity has always been a part of who I am. My journey began when I was 18 years old, creating handcrafted beaded jewellery and selling my pieces at craft markets throughout Auckland for many years. Alongside jewellery making, I’ve always had a deep love for art and painting, something I’ve enjoyed since I was young, and over the years I’ve also sold my artwork at local festivals and creative events.

I feel incredibly blessed to come from a very artistic family, where creativity, imagination, and making beautiful things were always encouraged. Now in my 50’s, I’ve decided to fully nurture my creative side once again and turn that lifelong passion into something meaningful.

Today, I create one-of-a-kind framed suncatchers, single drop suncatchers, handcrafted jewellery, and other artistic pieces designed to bring colour, light, warmth, and personality into people’s homes. Each creation is individually handmade using beautiful collections of glass, crystal, gemstone, ceramic, and lampwork beads, carefully chosen for their unique textures and the way they capture sunlight. I especially love transforming old and forgotten frames into something beautiful again, giving them a new purpose and story to tell.

Creativity is something shared in our home. My partner Patrick, originally from Ireland, is also incredibly artistic and has a gift for capturing beautiful nature photography. We hope to soon introduce a collection called Through Irish Eyes, featuring some of his stunning framed photographs inspired by the beauty of nature and the world around us.

As The Twisted Frame continues to grow, my dream is for the website to become a creative space filled with handcrafted treasures — from suncatchers and jewellery to artwork, photography, and other unique handmade creations made with heart and soul here in New Zealand.

For me, this journey is about more than just creating décor or art pieces — it’s about sharing creativity, storytelling, light, and a little magic with others.
